I might be mistaken, but I suspect most people are familiar with the opening of Under Milk Wood, Dylan Thomas's 'play for voices'. I've been reminded of it today because (for some reason I seem to have missed) Chris Evans keeps playing extracts from the Richard Burton version on his breakfast radio show. Sometime around the 1970s there was a TV serial in which one of the characters kept quoting the first line from Fern Hill ("Now as I was young and easy under the apple boughs")- set in Wales, probably in b/w and it keeps coming back to haunt me but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was - any ideas, anyone?
No idea. Can you remember any of the actors? There are places you can search for info about things they've appeared in.
We have something similar to this in our family 'knowledge set'. Years ago there was a series set in Renaissance Venice where at the start the central character is standing by a window, a dagger hits the wall behind him and he jumps into the canal to escape from whoever's trying to kill him.
We always called it 'Ping duck splash' and now that's all I can remember!
