An advent calendar of sorts. Day 5.

The Celts believed that at the end of December the sun stood still, causing the days to grow shorter.  They lit candles and burned a Yule log to remind the sun what it was supposed to do and make the days longer again.

Allow me.... I'm a 'pre-Christian believer'!

It's one of my favourite topics, given that I was brought up by decendents of travelling folk and a long line of wise women. Maybe I should post more stuff on the blogs.

And on the third day, the son (sun) had risen. All ancient religions have te exact same story which is based on the stars, sun and moon.
