Every year I promise myself that I’m not going to go berserk in organising the yule celebrations and yet each time I wear myself out buying and wrapping presents, cleaning the house so I can put up decorations, trimming the tree, planning and cooking meals, and all the hundred other jobs.
So – mince pie anyone?

You have gotten further than me!
I am still flitting around Christmas cards...
I do the same thing! Excellent 55.
Yes please to a mince pie ... we're off to Germany this year. But you are right to try not to make a rod for your own back - ehjoy yourself ;-)
Hmmm.. Hah. Yes for the mince pies. :-)
Haven't had a mince pie since my mother stopped making them when I was a child... I know I do less than most people around the holidays, but it's more than enough stress for me. Enjoy the pie :)
But that makes you the Hostess with the Mostess....and probably tired. Sadly, it's an all too familiar tail. :)
Mince pie is the BOMB!!!
Very Festive 55 AJ
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick nAss Week-End
Really love mince pie with a scoop of eggnog ice cream.
never thought about those duties as a burden,
what do we do during holiday, while kids off school, and nobody needs to work?
a fun 55.
Thanks for bringing up your own perspective here.
Thanks everyone for commenting.
Remember @morning - not everyone IS off work while they're organising the festive season. Some of us have to fit it around a full time job.
Sounds a bit like around here. This year I just haven't got started yet - except for a couple of presents and one home made card sent! Oh and some moving of furniture to make more room. The house needs cleaning and preparing. Today though I will be buying cards and presents. Maybe I'll finish all my shopping today!
