Thursday Extracts: On the way to winter

What goes on in the park?
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.

From : That time of year thou mayst in me behold (Sonnet 73) by William Shakespeare

Hi Anne - we had lovely blue sky yesterday .. and there a number of orange coloured trees around - and we've had lots of bird song - not sure why ... about a month ago I was wondering if they'd started breeding again ..

Though the leaves do flutter off .. love the Shakespeare quote .. winter is coming ... I hope it's not too icy and snowy this year .. cheers Hilary

How I already long for those green spring days with the birds full of song. Good bye warm afternoons, until we doth meet again.
