Jim looked at the tiny packet on the table in front of him that held so much hope. It was hard to believe that his future might rely on it. Now he was unemployed he might starve if he could not make the seeds grow. He pushed them into the soil and crossed his fingers.

What a wonderful thought with spring just around the corner... I hope! Though I have bluebells up before the daffodils in my garden.
Great story! used to grow most vegi's from seed- now we buy the sets of six and let someone else try and balance the heat lamps and water ratio!
